Capitol Furnishings Preservation Committee

Photo of Capitol GroupThe Capitol Furnishings Preservation Committee was formed in 1999 by statute “to promote and encourage the recovery and preservation of the original and historic furnishings of the state capitol group” as envisioned by architects Wilder and White. The Capitol Group includes the Legislative Building, the Insurance Building, the Temple of Justice, John A. Cherberg Building, John L. O’Brien Building and the Irving Newhouse Building.

CITIZEN MEMBER NOMINATIONS  There is currently an opening for a citizen member of the Committee. Citizen appointees are an active part of the Committee’s decisions and influence preservation and restoration efforts, target potential items for recovery and assist in fundraising events. Participation on the Committee increases knowledge of state history and in the places where our history happens.
