Abstract

This interim study was mandated in Engrossed House Bill 2487 from the 2000 Legislative Session.  It provides a preliminary review of the two major subject areas from that mandate: the Safety Net funding process within the K-12 Special Education Program and the Special Education Program audits performed by the Office of the State Auditor.  This study fulfills the legislature’s requirement for an interim report by November 20, 2000.  The second interim report is due to the legislature by November 20, 2001 and the final report must be submitted to the legislature no later than June 30, 2002.
