| Abstract |
2003 legislation sets up a system for negotiating prescription drug price discounts for state agencies through the Health Care Authority (HCA). HCA was also directed to negotiate discounts for certain uninsured individuals below 300% of the federal poverty level. This individual program will sunset in 2010. JLARC will prepare a pre-sunset review in advance of the formal evaluation due by December 2009. The purpose of these “pre-sunset reviews” is to identify what measures will be used to evaluate the programs when it is time to conduct the review at a later date.
