Mailing - newsletter - registered voters

Respondent Sen. Larry Sheahan
Question/Complaint One of the issues presented in this complaint was whether a legislative newsletter sent only to residents in a legislative district who had voted in the last election was a violation of RCW 42.52.180.
Summary This practice is permitted by senate policies and is regarded as a way to reduce the cost of mailings by sending them only to the persons who have expressed an interest in legislative issues through their decision to vote.  No violation of RCW 42.52.180.  Dismissed.
